Apostle Islands Wisconsin
After a long, lazy and snowy winter, the City of Bayfield Wisconsin slowly awakens from its winter slumber. As the snow melts, the rivers and creeks overflow, while they race to the Big Lake. Take a deep breath, and breathe in the sweet smell of the fruit trees and spring bulbs in full vibrant bloom. And by June, the purple, pink, and white shades of lupine are like a colorful blanket along the Bayfield roadways as spring fades into summer.

Bayfield WI Real EstateTake a stroll through Bayfield's Memorial Park on Lake Superior's edge or hike the Brownstone Trail south along the sandstone shoreline. Bayfield, WI offers many exciting summer activities that are unique to our northern Wisconsin area: hiking, biking, fruit picking, sailing, fishing, boating, a variety of different cruises, beautiful white sand beaches, horseback riding, musical entertainment at Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua, historical tours, museums, shopping, or just sitting back and watching the boats sail by. And to top all of this, Bayfield is surrounded by the most islands and lighthouses of all of the Great Lakes (22 Lake Superior islands in all and 7 lighthouses).

Now that the fall is past, winter slowly creeps in, which also means the holiday season has arrived. Celebrations include Wassail dinner concerts at the Old Rittenhouse Inn, art gallery open houses, Christmas shopping discounts, the lighting of the Bayfield city tree, and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus via the Madeline Island Ferry. Not to mention the wonderfully beautiful snow, and lots of it! Once the holiday season has come to a close, be prepared to swoosh down the slopes of Mt. Ashwabay or snowshoe through the Chequamegon National Forest. Rev your engines for snowmobiling at Mt. Valhalla, or jump in your car and brave the ice road to Madeline Island for an afternoon of cross-country skiing. From dog sledding to ice fishing, eagle watching to just sitting by the crackling fire with a good book, Bayfield Wisconsin has something for everyone.

With all of this said, you don’t have to find another reason to move to Bayfield. Just do it.
